What the route returns

Catalogue description, exactly as agents read it:

European company profile by country and national ID, one JSON schema (identity, legal form, status, seat, VAT, LEI, register link, groupe_lei: GLEIF level-2 group). Registers from local copies: Belgium (KBO, NACEBEL + establishments), Croatia, Cyprus, Estonia, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Romania, Sweden; live: Czechia, Finland, Poland, Slovakia, Switzerland; DK, UK if enabled; elsewhere via GLEIF (a natural-person or ambiguous-form LEI: 404, not billed), under the LEI's own country.

Expected identifier

Two-letter ISO country code, then the NATIONAL identifier — whose format changes with every country. See the per-country pages.

A wrongly formatted identifier in the path returns 400 and is not billed — but it costs you a round trip. It is the leading cause of failed calls on the foreign routes. A search parameter, by contrast, is cleaned up: unsupported characters are stripped and the usable query is served.

Price and billing

Price: $0.01. The authoritative amount is the one in the 402 quote returned by the route itself, not this text, which derives from the same grid but is still just a page.

An error response cancels the payment: a 400, 404 or 503 is never billed. An upstream outage closes the route with a 503 rather than serving a degraded response.

What this route does not do

Where no national register is covered, the profile goes through the global Legal Entity Identifier (GLEIF): an identifier that GLEIF itself flags as a natural person (sole proprietor), or whose legal form does not say whether the entity is a natural or a legal person, is not served (404, not billed). In the level-2 group, such a consolidating parent is not named: only its reason is given. An identifier requested under a country other than its own (its jurisdiction's; for a branch, its legal address's) is not served either (404, not billed), never under Germany or the Netherlands; a parent may also go unnamed for a reason the response does not state.

How you pay

Every route is paid per call, in USDC or EURC on the Base network, over the x402 protocol: no account to create, no API key, no subscription. The first call returns a 402 quote your client settles, then replays the call. A failed call is never billed.
