Querying European company registers

Every European register has its own identifier, vocabulary and gaps. Writing 15 integrations is a project; writing one that returns the same shape everywhere is the work we did. /v1/eu/entreprise/{pays}/{id} returns identity, legal form, status, creation date, head office, VAT, LEI and a register link, in a single schema.

What is available, country by country

The table below gives volumes measured in our database, each row on the date of its measurement; an identity remeasured on its own states its own date in its cell. An identity cell that says so counts either the legal persons the profile serves, or the whole copy, natural persons included. An empty cell does not mean “coming soon”: it means that country does not publish that piece in open access, or that we have not built it yet.

A dash does not mean zero. The Czech, Finnish and Swiss registers are queried live on each call: there is no identity copy to count. For Norway, accounts are queried live too, and our table keeps only a cache. For Belgium and Poland, the accounts piece is served differently (filing references, events): see the matching route pages. For Croatia, the column counts the accounts filings recorded at the register (type, period, date), never their figures. Served without identity records or accounts, hence no row here: Portugal, Spain; each of their routes has its own page.

Local copy or live query

The distinction changes what you can expect, so we publish it. The Belgian, Croatian, Cypriot, Estonian, Irish, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Romanian and Swedish registers are served from local copies: fast, and dated. The Czech, Finnish, Polish, Slovak and Swiss registers are queried live at source: always current, and dependent on their availability. Denmark and the United Kingdom are served subject to enablement, Spain through our copy of the BORME filings (search and filings, no identity record).

Beyond those countries, coverage goes through the global Legal Entity Identifier (LEI), which yields financial entities and large groups worldwide — but not the small local company.

A stale snapshot closes the route rather than lying

This is the most important guarantee in this family, and it runs against the commercial reflex. When a local copy exceeds its age threshold, the route returns 503 and the payment is cancelled, instead of serving a dead snapshot. A frozen register answering “company active” for a business struck off weeks ago is more dangerous than no answer at all.

Not every stock is protected that way yet — some carry operational monitoring only. Each route page states which applies to the piece it describes, rather than implying uniform protection.

For sources published day by day (public procurement, UK official-journal notices, the Croatian register, commercial-court decisions), age is measured on the data itself, feed by feed: a collection that succeeds without bringing anything new refreshes nothing, and the response dates each feed.

How you pay

Every route is paid per call, in USDC or EURC on the Base network, over the x402 protocol: no account to create, no API key, no subscription. The first call returns a 402 quote your client settles, then replays the call. A failed call is never billed.

Open today: 150 free calls a month with an account, on 109 of 125 routes (the price list says which), and pay-per-call over x402 (USDC or EURC), with no account except registry filings. Prepaid credits: card top-up is not open yet.

Paid responses are Ed25519-signed: you can later prove what was served to you, and when. The whole catalogue is free to read in the OpenAPI document and in llms.txt.

Frequently asked questions

Are Germany and the Netherlands covered?

Not for identity records: those two registers are explicitly out of scope for the unified search. Germany is present through another angle, the directors' dealings monitored by its market authority.

What if the foreign register is down?

For a live route, the answer is a 503 and the call is not billed. We never serve a paid degraded response.

Are national identifiers normalised?

Each country keeps its own identifier — a 10-digit enterprise number in Belgium, an 11-digit number in Latvia, the Finnish NNNNNNN-N format, and so on. Each country's route page states the expected format, because a wrong format is the leading cause of failed calls.
