What the route returns

Catalogue description, exactly as agents read it:

Name search in European registers. Local copies, all searched when pays is absent: Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Estonia, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Romania, Sweden, Spain (BORME); live, only with pays set: Czechia, Finland, Slovakia, Switzerland; Poland through GLEIF; DK/UK if enabled; +GLEIF. Top 10: country, ID, status, score_confiance. BE, CH, CZ, DK, EE, HR, LT, LV, NO, SK: legal persons only (no FIE, ENK, IK), nor ES sole traders; no GLEIF sole proprietor, no CH branch (ecartes).

Expected identifier

None: a name of at least two characters, plus an optional pays filter as a two-letter ISO code.

A wrongly formatted identifier in the path returns 400 and is not billed — but it costs you a round trip. It is the leading cause of failed calls on the foreign routes. A search parameter, by contrast, is cleaned up: unsupported characters are stripped and the usable query is served.

Price and billing

Price: $0.003. The authoritative amount is the one in the 402 quote returned by the route itself, not this text, which derives from the same grid but is still just a page.

An error response cancels the payment: a 400, 404 or 503 is never billed. An upstream outage closes the route with a 503 rather than serving a degraded response.

What this route does not do

Germany and the Netherlands are out of scope for this search. Legal Entity Identifier coverage gives financial entities and large groups, not the small local company. In Czechia and Slovakia only legal persons are served: a sole trader or a form not recognised as a legal person is left out, counted in ecartes, never named. In Estonia too, only legal persons are served: a sole proprietorship (FIE) or a form not recognised as a legal person is left out and counted the same way. In Norway as well, only legal persons are served, read before the cut of candidates: a sole proprietorship (ENK), a registered individual, an estate named after a person (KBO, BO) or a form not recognised as a legal person is left out and counted the same way. In Latvia too, only legal persons are served: an individual merchant (IK), an individual, family, farm or fishery enterprise, or a form not recognised as a legal person is left out and counted the same way. In Switzerland, a sole proprietorship (Einzelunternehmen), whose name carries the owner's name, a branch (the search does not know its head office) or an undecided legal form is left out and counted the same way. In Croatia too only legal persons are served: a sole trader or an undecided form is left out and counted the same way; in Belgium, an entity without legal form (a natural-person enterprise), and in Spain, the sheet of a sole trader (an « empresario individual » act), too. In every country, a Legal Entity Identifier that GLEIF itself flags as a natural person (sole proprietor) is left out the same way, as is one whose legal form does not say whether the entity is a natural or a legal person.

How you pay
