# Irish company file

Every day the Companies Registration Office publishes, as open data (CC BY 4.0), the complete snapshot of its register: 824,918 live and dissolved companies on 18/09/2026, with 33 status codes and 45 type codes. This route serves the common identity and the register block: dated status in a closed family, annual returns, last accounts, registered office with Eircode, NACE and the 2022-2024 accounts-filing index.

## What the route returns

Catalogue description, exactly as agents read it:

**Official Irish company registry lookup (Companies Registration Office — CRO Open Data, complete daily snapshot, CC BY 4.0). CRO number, 1-7 digits, e.g. 600161. Common identity (name, type, status, incorporation, registered office with Eircode) plus the CRO block: 33 status codes in closed families (normal, dissolved, liquidation, strike-off, examinership…), 45 type codes, annual-return dates, last accounts, NACE, 2022-2024 filings index (dates). 404 without charge if absent.**

## Expected identifier

**CRO number**, 1 to 7 digits (IE prefix tolerated), e.g. 600161.

> ⚠️ A wrongly formatted identifier in the **path** returns `400` and is **not billed** — but it costs you a round trip. It is the leading cause of failed calls on the foreign routes. A **search** parameter, by contrast, is cleaned up: unsupported characters are stripped and the usable query is served.

## Price and billing

Price: **$0.01**. The authoritative amount is the one in the `402` quote returned by the route itself — not this text, which derives from the same grid but is still just a page.

An error response **cancels the payment**: a `400`, `404` or `503` is never billed. An upstream outage closes the route with a `503` rather than serving a degraded response.

## What this route does not do

The CRO publishes **no officers, no beneficial owners and no financial figures** as open data: accounts filings are a date index (2022-2024). The locality of the common identity is a heuristic on the last address line; the full registered office is in the block. Daily snapshot: the route is withheld after 7 days without a pass.

## How you pay

Every route is paid **per call**, in USDC or EURC on the Base network, over the x402 protocol: no account to create, no API key, no subscription. The first call returns a `402` quote your client settles, then replays the call. A failed call is never billed.
