# Search a European company

The European gateway, and the route that best explains our split between local copies and live queries: Norway, Estonia, Latvia and Spain answer from our copies; Czechia, Slovakia, Finland, Poland and Switzerland are queried at source. Beyond that, coverage goes through the global Legal Entity Identifier.

## What the route returns

Catalogue description, exactly as agents read it:

**European company search across official registers: company lookup by name, returning European company data in one unified schema. Norway, Estonia, Latvia and Spain (BORME base, hoja key) are served from local copies; Czechia, Slovakia, Finland, Poland and Switzerland are queried live; Denmark and UK when enabled; plus worldwide GLEIF (LEI) coverage of financial entities and large groups. Top 10 matches with country, national ID, status and a score_confiance (0-1 match confidence).**

## Expected identifier

None: a name, plus an optional `pays` filter as a two-letter ISO code.

> ⚠️ A wrongly formatted identifier returns `400` and is **not billed** — but it costs you a round trip. It is the leading cause of failed calls on the foreign routes.

## Price and billing

Price: **$0.003**. The authoritative amount is the one in the `402` quote returned by the route itself — not this text, which derives from the same grid but is still just a page.

An error response **cancels the payment**: a `400`, `404` or `503` is never billed. An upstream outage closes the route with a `503` rather than serving a degraded response.

## What this route does not do

Germany and the Netherlands are **out of scope** for this search. Legal Entity Identifier coverage gives financial entities and large groups, not the small local company.

## How you pay

Every route is paid **per call**, in USDC or EURC on the Base network, over the x402 protocol: no account to create, no API key, no subscription. The first call returns a `402` quote your client settles, then replays the call. A failed call is never billed.
